What Is Psychological Dependence?

Psychological dependence occurs when you use a drug to produce a feeling of well-being. You may have started using the drug as a means of escaping your problems. However, you now have a psychological dependence on the drug. Therefore, you focus all your energy on obtaining and using it. Because of your affected emotions and mental processes, you have developed a psychological dependence.

Our staff understands the science behind the multifaceted approach to achieving recovery for individuals who have co-occurring disorders. We use this knowledge to create highly effective forms of treatment for addiction and dependence disorders.
