Our Holistic Healing Approach

woman meditating through holistic healing Utilizing a holistic healing approach means that our clinicians treat the entire person, rather than just the addiction. At The Willows at Red Oak, we’re proud to offer comprehensive addiction treatment program options that address your physical, emotional, and spiritual wellness as you work towards long-term sobriety.

Only treating one issue at a time may lead to relapse. If you have unresolved triggers, they may cause your recovery to be temporary, making it difficult to stay sober. However, with holistic treatment options, we replace your triggers with healthy coping mechanisms. As such, discovering the root of your addiction is vital.

At The Willows at Red Oak, we help you strengthen your ability to defeat trauma, mental health conditions, and substance use with our holistic healing programs, leading to long-lasting freedom. The young women who have completed our substance abuse treatment programs learn, practice, and develop skills to cope with being in recovery. With a range of helpful tools to do this, we work to help you towards a healthier lifestyle.

We provide a variety of individual and group therapy options, which our masters-level, dually licensed clinicians are able to provide for 25 hours each week. We provide family therapy programs, traditional 12 step programs, acupuncture, adventure therapy, and other treatment options. Our person-centered programs meet you where you are, rather than where people think you should be. We offer flexible lengths of stay, allowing you to recover from addiction, mental health, and trauma on your own schedule.

Holistic Healing for All of Your Needs

In many cases, addiction starts with mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD. In some women, their mental illness began their addiction. They began displaying symptoms of their mental health condition, then started using drugs or alcohol to self-medicate their symptoms. Unfortunately, attempts to self-medicate often requires more of the drug or alcohol to get the same level of control, which is also called dependence. Dependence on drugs and alcohol can quickly spiral into addiction.

Conversely, some drugs can cause mental illness symptoms. The more of the substance you take, the more often you suffer from the symptoms of the condition. Sadly, due to the addiction that has developed, you cannot simply stop using the drug.

If you’re suffering from both addiction and mental health conditions, you need to address both problems simultaneously. With the approach of holistic healing, our team can provide you with the skills that you need to handle both conditioning, giving you the chance to live a happy and healthy life. For instance, we offer a range of holistic therapies, including:

  • Gardening therapy
  • Yoga therapy
  • Acupuncture therapy
  • Meditation therapy

Using these tools, you can manage your mental health symptoms and your addiction. These healing options give you the skills you need for long-term recovery.
